SOIL Chooses SHINEDOWN Tour Over IN FLAMES/LACUNA COIL
October 7, 2006SOIL guitarist Shaun Glass has released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET explaining the band's decision to pull out of the upcoming IN FLAMES/LACUNA COIL trek (where they have since been replaced by Massachusetts' SEEMLESS).
Commented Glass: "SOIL has decided on doing a December run with our longtime friends in SHINEDOWN, which is [slated to take place at] the exact same time as the IN FLAMES/LACUNA COIL tour.
"We hope too see you all out at the 'Kill Your Liver Part 2 Tour'. Dates to be announced!"
As previously reported, a new version of the SOIL track "Give It Up", featuring guest vocals by STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static, has been posted online at www.myspace.com/soil.
The original version of "Give It Up" is featured on SOIL's latest CD, "True Self", which was released in early May via DRT Entertainment. The follow-up to 2004's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT). The CD is the group's first to feature singer A.J. Cavalier, who previously fronted the California-based DIESEL MACHINE (also featuring ex-DAMAGEPLAN frontman Patrick Lachman on guitar). The band's original vocalist, Ryan McCombs, has since joined the Texas act DROWNING POOL.
